A reaction game for younger players (under 7s to under 10s) that sharpens the chase, the evasion and the tag or tackle. Two teams (Rats and Rabbits) stand a stride either side of a middle line, facing each other, with a safe line behind each team.
The coach calls one team (eg Rats): that team chases, and the other turns and runs for its safe line. Anyone tagged before they cross it is caught. Mix up the calls, add a ball for the runners to carry in two hands, and progress to a two-handed touch or a tackle on the tube for older groups.
